- Son, daughter, or legal ward of a North Central Electric Cooperative member living on the lines and receiving service at the time of the competition
- Must have all basic credits for college or proper vocational or technical school entrance. (Proper vocational or technical schools must educate beyond high school and credits earned must be transferable to a state-accredited college.)
- Minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA
- Must be accepted, then enrolled (when you receive the award), in an accredited college or proper vocational or technical school of their choice
Amount: $2,500 first place; $1,500 runners-up
Number Awarded: 2 first place awards and 2 runner-up awards(one boy and one girl for each award)
Renewable: No – but this award is distributed over the four years
